What the data shows
5,093 companies were incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act from October 1–27, 2026. Ontario had the most, with 3,896 (76% of the total), followed by Quebec (512), Alberta (236), British Columbia (206).
By registered office, Toronto, ON had the most new federal companies of any city (943; Toronto includes North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York and York). 41% of the new companies are numbered companies, which register without a business name.
These are federal incorporations only. Most Canadian companies incorporate provincially, so the numbers show where federal incorporations are happening, not all new businesses.
